A basement is an enclosed space, which works in your favor: our technician can treat the walls, framing, and any affected stored materials, along with the air throughout the room, with the two-step VaPURE process. A sterilant goes down first, then an antimicrobial protectant that helps resist regrowth once the moisture is under control.
Most basement jobs finish in a day. Materials that stayed dry or only picked up light surface growth generally stay in place; drywall or carpet that was standing in water for an extended period may need to come out before treatment, and we'll walk you through what that looks like during the inspection.
A sump pump or dehumidifier running in the background does a good job of keeping a basement dry day to day, but neither one treats mold that's already established on a wall or a joist. Those systems matter for keeping the space dry after treatment, not as a substitute for it.
